12 Mar 2009 - 48th ACI World Congress – Cape Town: Opening at The Bay Hotel, Campus Bay
The 48th ACI World Congress officially kicked off Thursday evening at the welcome reception hosted by the South African Reserve Bank, The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay. Dr. XP Guma, Deputy Governor South African Reserve Bank warmely welcomed at his opening speech all delegates to Cape Town. At the Council Dinner, the previous day, Roy Daniels, President ACI South Africa as well Manfred Wiebogen, President ACI The Financial Markets Association gave their emotional opening remarks to the audience. Both highlighted the tremendous efforts of the organizing committee having achieved the 'mission impossible' organizing such a big event in days of a financial markets worst case scenario.
