13 Mar 2009 - 48th ACI World Congress – Cape Town: The economies in the wake of the financial crisis
This interesting Panel was leaded by David Clark, Honorary President of ACI. Goolam Ballim from Standard Bank, Rudolf Gouws from Rand Merchant Bank, Jeff Gable from ABS Capital and Dennis Dykes from Nedbank submitted their experience. The broad range of discussion varied from the exposure of Emerging Markets, some disappearance of securitization market, lesser private money which hardly finds its way to become invested to finally some solution approaches alike to stop the bleeding in the balance sheets of banks and may be the creation of a bad bank might be one besides other possibilities. It also became argued, that one of Central Bank's mistake before/during the crisis were/would be only looking after inflation - market imbalances in general need to be more focussed on too!- 20090313_Challenging_Times_by_Jeff_Gable_-_ABSA.pdf
